Participants and onlookers\nwrote extensively at the time and Huxley fills his book, <em>The Devils Of Loudun,<\/em> with their observations and opinions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Huxley, in his own\nvoice, guides us through the narrative and explains French social, political,\nphilosophical, scholarly and religious life with a calm clarity spiced with\noccasional bits of dry British wit.
